We are thrilled to share that Michael Kaelo has been promoted to Programme Manager for Kenya Wildlife Trust’s (KWT) Mara Programmes (The Mara Predator Conservation Programme (MPCP) & Ufugaji Hifadhi Livelihoods Program). Michael first joined KWT in 2014 as Chief Community Officer before progressing to Community and Public Relations Manager for MPCP.
Michael has a passion for working with people to create a sustainable environment for wildlife and livestock to coexist. His research focuses on understanding the drivers of change in mixed-use environments and finding ways to mitigate conflicts between humans and wildlife. He is also interested in studying community dynamics and their impact on conservation efforts on private and communal lands.
We are confident that Michael’s expertise and dedication to conservation will serve him well in his new role as Programme Manager.
